APPI PPG pilot

The APPI PPG Pilot course is an intermediate course and provides the student with the APPI PPG Pilot qualification. Students must complete the APPI PPG Adventure Pilot course first. An APPI PPG Pilot is someone who has become an independent paramotor pilot, capable of flying solo and analysing the different weather conditions without supervision. Before flying at different sites, APPI PPG Pilots are recommended to choose places where they can have assistance from an APPI PPG School.

PREREQUISITES

To enrol in an APPI PPG Pilot course, an individual must:

- Be physically fit enough to take part in the training course.
- Be certified as an APPI PPG Adventure Pilot having completed at least one solo Paramotor flight, or have a similar certification from another training organisation.
- Have a minimum age of 16 years old.
- Respect the APPI Safety Rules and Quality Standards.
- Agree to sit a minimum 6 Day course with a certified instructor consisting of the following APPI PPG Pilot training syllabus.

TRAINING

The training includes theoretical knowledge about weather, mechanics of flight and effects of the motor upon the wing, air-laws, piloting and equipment. 

In the field, ground handling skills are improved, the student will learn how to master a flight, from weather analysis to flight navigation planning.

CERTIFICATION

APPI PPG students must satisfactorily complete all course performance requirements to qualify as APPI PPG Pilots, using the APPI PPG Pilot Level Training Syllabus and Logbook to document their progression.
To apply for certification, the certifying APPI PPG Instructor must submit online a completed, validated APPI PPG Pilot Application on the APPI PPG website, along with the required photo and application fee.
Upon approval of the application and validation, APPI PPG will issue an APPI PPG Pilot Certification Card.



APPI RULES

The APPI PPG Pilot qualification is only available to students who have completed the full APPI PPG Pilot course, which consists of the APPI PPG Adventure Pilot course and the APPI PPG Pilot course. Only APPI Advanced Paraglider pilots, or those with a similar qualification, can move directly onto the APPI PPG Pilot course without having to sit the APPI PPG Adventure Pilot course first.
