DESCRIPTION

The wind here is the true wind. The wind at launch will be a few KM stronger. Do not fly if more than 25km/hr. Don't get blown over the back! Speed bar (accelerator) may be necessary. Rotor when the wind comes from the left of the mountain in front, otherwise good to fly in North to East-Northeast winds. In strong winds it is safer to keep well out in front of the hill and away from the wind turbines.

Beware of a sudden increase in wind speed. Beware of rotor if the wind turns North-Northwest direction. The flight will become very bumpy.

From Millstreet drive 4km south towards Macroom. Take the 2nd right hand turn, and keep to the right hand side at the next junction. Follow this road up for 3km to the top of the hill. You should be going straight towards a wind-farm. Be careful, in that the road is narrow and is often used by the local farmers with slow moving vehicles and animals. At the the wind farm, take the first Right hand turn. Continue for 300m and take the next right hand turn up to a wind turbine. Park here and walk the 100m in a northeast direction towards the launch area.
