The bank is really sharp and has an undercut half way down in some places which can pull the air down. If you get below 3/4 of the bank keep an eye on your speed and hand position as the undercut can change the wind direction. Extreme rotor/turbulence is possible the further back (<10m) you get from the edge as the bank it very sharp. There's no need to fly super close to the bank because the lift band is usually further in front.
