This is a coastal soaring site. In the summer it works perfectly on seabreeze from SW from 6-9 m/s for 'sport pilots' and up to around 14 m/s for expert pilots.
But attention!! You need good ground handling techniques to fly here.
The soaring ridge is some 4 km long.
Access
Get to Ystad in the very south of Sweden and drive approx. 15 km east to the little village of Hammar - look for the gliders up and behind the grassy ridge directly south of the village. Take the small dirt road to the parking. Park only on the right side (west).
Rules
3000 ft ASL
WEATHER
Dont fly in too strong winds! Hammar works best when its SW but also when its SSW or WSW. If it doesn't work, land on the soft beach. But beware of landing in the ocean. There are currents which may drag you out.
