Minimum cloudbase required: 840m. Flying with the valley breeze or calm conditions is ok. Avoid flying the site when there is a strong wind from west. Being in the rotor, it may appear flyable, but being in the air will be unpleasant and dangerous.

access

There are 3 options: 1) by footpath from Saint Ambroggio on stone-paved path. It takes 600 vertical meters from the village. Once arrived at the main parking, take the aphalted road which goes down, and follow the gravel path on the right. 2) By via Ferrara. Sacra San Michele is reachable by rather simple and spectacular via ferrata from S.Ambroggio. The ferrata end exactly at the monestery. From there go to the main parking area and then follow the instructions as in the point 1. It takes typically 2-3 hours to climb the ferrata. Use light gear! Doing the via ferrata with big and bulky bag is not a good idea.
