DESCRIPTION

This area was just pioneered 4th of July 2009, so not much information yet. It appears to be good for winds coming across the Hemet/San Jacinto Valley from the Southwest through Northwest. There are several hills nearby facing West and Southwest, with Indian Mountain, Idyllwild Ponds and Chimney Flats within reach on a good day.

The backstop for this area is Mount San Jacinto, which develops thunderstorms in the summer.

From Florida Avenue in downtown Hemet, head East towards Idyllwild. Florida becomes Highway 74. Bee Canyon Road begins at: Lat 33d 44m 13s Lon -116d 49m 29s Follow the dirt road up the canyon in a generally northward direction to a wide area, which is where 3-4 dirt roads meet. This will be at the North end of a small hill. Follow the main road around the backside of the hill (the other roads go towards the North) and it will zig zag up the mountain and around the launch hill. Park in the obvious wide spot on the back side of the launch hill.
