DESCRIPTION

Several landing options, all of them a 5:1 glide or farther. The Sky Ranch LZ on a large, open river bar by Highway 299 and Sky Ranch Road (near Junction City) is a 5:1 glide but cannot be seen from the launch due to a ridge blocking the view. It is suitable for hang gliders and paragliders. Paraglider pilots can land along Weaver Bally Road in the burned out area about 1 mile up the road from Highway 299, also a 5:1 glide from launch. This is an unimproved landing zone with nearby terrain features and trees that make workable but less than ideal in wind or thermic conditions. Other options with further glides are available.
