DESCRIPTION

Altitude : 2 169 m ASL Situation : On the road to Piton de la Fournaise volcano Access : Take the road to the volcano from Murat village, go past the Rivière des Remparts point of view over Rivière des Rempart. The Piton is on the left, about 3 km farther. It is locatable by pylones of Hertzian relays. Leave vehicles on road side and keep walking. Takeoff is made towards the back, in front of the Plaine des Palmistes.
