weather

When wind is west to northwest we often get out-of-phase wave from the Welsh mountains (Black mountains) causing takeoff to be gusty and difficult. Rotor will form over the back of the slope near the car park. Land far back of the car park in wind.

access

Drive to Westbury (A350). Take the B3098 to Bratton. In Bratton village turn first right up the hill and use the free car park. Hang gliders set up next to the car park on the grass.

regulation

Site rules: Do not land in any fields except the main car park field, and the bottom Emergency field. WARNING! The Salisbury Plain Military Danger Area lies directly behind (i.e. to the south) the whole site. Do not go XC except via accepted departure routes!
