DESCRIPTION
Launch . Made ground directly in front of3rd Wind Turbine from south. Clear for one PG or one HG at time. Rigging area for several. Gated access via Wind Turbine trac (contact locals for info on key access). Otherwise park at Wind Turbine centre and walk 10-15 mins along bordwalk and tracks to 3rd Turbine. T/O
Takes SSE to SE be wary of down-wind speeds/ lift band. Serious cliff lines to 300m along ridge. Long sections of cliff with no bottom landing. Beware of rapidly changing weather. Storms approach from all windward directions. !!. has 8 km ridge to Soth to Sharp Point and 7km ridge to North to Mutton Bird ave heights 150-300m... 30 km round trip !!>initialy imported from International Leonardo
Access
Albany. Frenchmans Bay Road. @ 3 km follow signs for windfarm. 5km Windfarm Car park. On foot via boardwalk/track to Turbine 3 launch.
Direct access to Turbine 3 is possible via gated vehicle track. Contact local pilots for access details.

Cliff Site. Soaring. Weather can be quickly changable. Rain bands and gust fronts can develop quickly in Spring/ Autumn. Pure ridge line on spine back so less likely to maintain seabreaze effect. Has some potential for XC from Mutton Bird (Nth) end of ridge however this will be limited by Albany Airspace.Superb high cliff flying in region.
