DESCRIPTION
Not well maintained. Good ground handling skill is of essence/very important! The big advantage with Rondebosh is - it has takeoffs in just about any wind direction apart of N-W. (There is actually a N-W takeoff too, but flying in that wind is close to impossible.)
Takeoff is basically anywhere you can find a clean patch of ground, usually halfway up the hill. The local farmer (private property) does not want foreign people on his land. (Cattle farm) He does not mind Paragliders but is very fond of pasture gates been left open.A handful of local pilots pay a courtesy fee of about 35 USD annually. Visitors are welcome if accompanied by a local pilot.
