APPI Tandem Pro Workshop Report – Sopot, Bulgaria

<div>The APPI Tandem Pro Workshop was held in Sopot, Bulgaria, and lasted for 8 days.</div>

<div>Structure of the Workshop:</div>

<div>Day 1: Theoretical classes and Unit 1 introduction</div>

<div>Days 1–2: Practical and theoretical development of Unit 1</div>

<div>Day 3: Progression to Unit 4</div>

<div>Days 4–5: Focus on Unit 2 with in-depth theoretical and practical sessions</div>

<div>Location and Facilities:</div>

<div>The theoretical parts of the workshop were hosted by SkyNomads Paragliding School, with special thanks to Niki, who kindly provided the classroom facilities. The environment was ideal for focused learning and knowledge sharing.</div>

<div>Practical Adjustments:</div>

<div>Due to a technical issue with the chairlift at the Sopot flying site, participants were transported to an alternative flying site located approximately one hour south of Sopot. There, they were able to complete at least two training flights. After the flights, the group returned to Sopot.</div>

<div>On the final day, although the lift was temporarily operational, it failed again after the first flight, preventing participants from completing their second tandem exam flight.</div>

<div>To ensure the completion of all practical evaluations, we extended the workshop to an additional day and moved the group to Sofia, the capital city. On day 8, participants successfully completed their final exam flights.</div>

<div>The workshop was conducted by two APPI Master Instructors:</div>

<div>Emil Kirilov (Bulgaria)</div>

<div>Both Masters contributed extensively to the technical, theoretical, and pedagogical development of the participants, ensuring a high-level educational experience.</div>

<div>Participants:</div>

<div>The workshop gathered a group of motivated and diverse pilots—all from Bulgaria—consisting of both experienced tandem pilots and newer professionals. Their dedication and involvement were instrumental to the successful outcome of the event.</div>

<div>Final Note:</div>

<div>This workshop was not only an opportunity to share knowledge and certify professionals, but also part of a broader mission:</div>

<div>To build a culture of safety, technical precision, and academic structure within the Bulgarian paragliding community.</div>

<div>Our goal is to create a systematic, standardized, and professional platform for the growth of the sport in the region.</div>
